about Crate Entertainment
Crate Entertainment LLC is a small, privately owned, indie-startup founded in February 2008 by former Iron Lore lead designer, Arthur Bruno. In late 2009, Crate acquired the rights to the Iron Lore codebase and began working on a new Action-RPG that would become Grim Dawn. Starting as a team of only two full-time people with the support of volunteers, Crate has grown thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign in May 2012, the alpha release of Grim Dawn in May 2013 and the game's debut on Steam Early Access in November 2013. In 2015, Crate has a team of eight veteran developers, striving to finish Grim Dawn and make it a worthy, stand-out title amongst other great games in the genre.
Grim Dawn is an action role-playing game set in an apocalyptic fantasy world where humanity is on the brink of extinction, iron is valued above gold and trust is hard earned. The game brings exciting new features to the genre while also refining what makes ARPGs such a compelling experience. As a spiritual successor to Titan Quest, Grim Dawn attempts to better perfect the magical formula of exploration, character advancement, and loot collection pioneered by Diablo.
Features include: complex character development, hundreds of unique items, crafting, NPC factions and quests with choice & consequence.
